Tour Plan

01

Day 01: Arrive Ahmedabad

Upon arrival at Ahmedabad, you will be met and greeted and then taken to your hotel for check in. After taking some rest, you will go for a sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad visiting Gandhi Ashram, Hutheesingh Jain temple, Adalaj stepwell & Vaishnodevi temple. Gandhi Ashram: On a quiet peaceful stretch of the Sabarmati River, Mahatma Gandhi set up a simple retreat in 1915. This was his Satyagrah Ashram, and from here, in 1930, Mahatma began his famous Dandi March to the sea to protest against the Salt Tax imposed by the British. Hridaya Kunj, the simple cottage where he lived, is now a national monument and preserved as it was during the Mahatma’s life-time. Hutheesingh Jain Temple: Built outside the Delhi Gate in 1850 by a rich Jain merchant, the Hutheesingh Temple is the best known of Ahmedabad’s many ornate Jain temples. Adalaj Step-well: Situated 17kms north of Ahmedabad is another fine example of this magnificent architectural form. Adalaj Vav is richly carved, every pillar and wall surface covered with leaves and flowers, birds and fishes and friezes of ornamental designs. Akshardham: Lord Swaminarayan, born in Chapaya in Uttar Pradesh, took a seven-year pilgrimage in Gujarat to preach his religion. He built six temples, Akshardham, being one of them. The interiors have beautiful columns in rosewood that rise up to a high dome. Akshardham remains closed on Mondays. Return to the hotel

Day 02: Ahmedabad - Dakor - Pavagadh - Ahmedabad - By Road

Today after breakfast proceed for a day excursion to Dakor and Pavagadh. Dakor, is for the Danknath temple, a place of Shiva worship. Today this place is known not only as a pilgrimage centre but also a trading centre where one can get the articles related to puja, and other rituals. Later proceed to Pavagadh which houses one of the oldest and famous temple of Mahakali. day_2_1 The temple has become the place of the pilgrimage for almost all Hindus in India. This temple is among the three main Shaktipeeths in Gujarat. It has been said in Hindu Shastras that after the famous Tandava dance of Lord Shiva, the various parts of the body of Sati fell at many places and this being one of them. Later drive back to Ahmedabad. Later drive back to Ahmedabad.

Day 03: Ahmedabad to Dwarka(By Road - 460Kms)

After breakfast drive to Dwarka, an ancient city and one of the principal pilgrimage place of Hindus. Arrive and transfer to your hotel.

Day 04: In Dwarka

After breakfast visit the Nageshwar Temple, Rukmani Temple and Gomati Talav. However the visit of Dwarka is not complete without a visit to Bet Dwarka, an island at a distance of 30 Kms. Off the coast of Okha port, At Bet, there are temples of Vishnu (in the form of 'matsya'), A ferry ride from Dwarka to the island of Bet near Okha makes a pleasant outing. Proceed to The Rukmini temple, dating from 12 to 13 Century, was built in honour of Rani Rukmani, princess of Vidharba, This small temple, 1.5 km north of the city, is an architectural masterpiece. The temple walls are decorated with beautiful paintings and sculptures. Also visit Gopi Talav: This is the place where Lord Krishna used to play with his Gopikas. There is a small pond where it is said that Lord Krishna used to play with the Gopika Strees (Gopika Women). In the evening visit another popular place in Dwarka, part of the Dwarkadhish Temple is Sabha Mandapa. It is a 60-pillared hall, which houses almost 2500 years old scriptures. The hall has 'Jharokhas', offering a nice view of the nearby flowing Gomati River. Attend evening Aarti at Dwarkadhish temple. Return to the hotel.

Day 05: Dwarka To Somnath(By Road - 250 Kms)

Today after breakfast you will drive to Somnath – One of the most revered & an important center of culture & nationalism. Arrive Somnath and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon take a city tour of the Somnath, namely the Somnath temple, which is one of the twelve most sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and a Jyotirlinga. The another highlight in Somnath is the Kailash temple with its imposing architecture, a 50-meter high tower, intricate carvings and a number of holy idols and images. After performing the evening Aarti and after witnessing the Sound & Light Show finally end the tour with a visit to the beach of Somnath which is very beautiful & captivating with its fresh blue waters, humming waves and the cool sands giving you a feeling of having landed in a paradise. Return back to the hotel.

Day 06: Somnath To Bhavnagar (By Road - 280 Kms)

After breakfast drive to Bhavnagar; arrive Bhavnagar and transfer to hotel. Later take a tour of Bhavnagar, founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil in 1723 AD Visit the Gaurishanker Lake which is a beautiful picnic spot. Also visit the park. Another great sight is the Takhteshwar Temple, situated on a hill, the site provides a panoramic view. The Lock Gate is the first of its kind in Gujarat. The sea-water here is impounded by the lock gates to keep ships afloat during low tide. Return to the hotel.

Day 07: In Bhavnagar

Early morning after breakfast proceed for an excursion to Palitana, which is just 56kms drive. Palitana lies at the foot of the Shetrunjaya hill, with the Shetrunjaya River flowing to its south. The sacred hill rises in a crescendo of magnificent temples – 863 in all – that soar in marble splendour to the top of the hill. The temples were built over an impressive span of 900 years with each generation of pilgrims making its contribution to the shrines of Shetrunjaya. The 600-metre climb to Shetrunjaya is usually made on foot. Dolis or lift-chairs are also available for the ascent. Return to the hotel.

Day 08: Bhavnagar To Ahmedabad(By Road - 200Kms)

Today after breakfast drive back to Ahmedabad, this journey with us comes to an end and you will proceed to Ahmedabad Airport / Railway Station to board flight / train for your next destination taking away beautiful memories with you.
