Arrive at the airport/railway station, you will be met and greeted and then drive to Darjeeling – often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others.  Arrive and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Get up early morning at 4.00AM for experiencing the most spectacular sight to see the beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest at the Tiger Hill. You can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turns golden. It truly is a majestic sight. See the Ghoom Monastery which is oldest Monastery in the area which was built in 1875 and the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height on the way back from Tiger Hill.

Return for breakfast at the hotel.

Thereafter  proceed for the beautiful city tour, visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest, then the Zoological Park(closed on Thursday), the Tibetan Refugee Centre(closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Estate(from outside), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Evening free for shopping. Return to the hotel.

After a good breakfast proceed for an excursion to Mirik Lake – situated 48 kms west of Darjeeling near Nepal border, you will drive from Darjeeling to Mirik  via natural forest & tea garden.  Arrive and enjoy the experience of boating at the lake which is 1.25 kms long. It is a semi-artificial lake.  Later you can visit the main tourist area called Krishna-Nagar, which  is at south of the lake, then take a 10 minute walk to Bokar Gompa, home to Mahayana monks. One can catch the sunrise and sunset from Rameetay Dara. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to the airport for your onward flight, taking away happy memories with a promise to “Let’s Journey’ again.
