Madhya Pradesh is a state in central India, nicknamed the “heart of India” due to its geographical location. Begun in the 10th century, it landmarks from eras throughout Indian history.

Khajuraho is one of the most popular tourist spots in Madhya Pradesh. It is famous for its ancient temples that depict some of the finest art in the world. Built between 950-1050 AD… Gwalior is best known for its imposing hilltop fort, which was famously described as ‘the pearl amongst fortresses in India’. The eastern state is most famous for its Bandhavgarh and Kanha national parks; they are well noted Bengal tiger sanctuaries which offer guided safaris.

Bhopal the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is a fascinating amalgam of scenic beauty, old historic city and modern urban planning, Its boasts of Museums and Jain sculptures, it is also home to the Van Vihar National Park, for its tigers, lions and leopards.

Indore is the largest city in Madhya Pradesh, its history dates back to the 19th-century Holkar dynasty. The city is popular of its night market Sarafa Bazar, the Indo-Gothic Gandhi Hall and clock tower. The Jain temple Kanch Mandir has a mirrored mosaic interior.

Other interesting places also include Orchha, situated on the bank of Betwa River, is a quaint yet royal town that enhances the charm of MP; Ujjain, known for its Jain temples and Pachmarhi – popularly known as ‘Satpura ki Rani’ (Queen of Satpura), sits beautifully, embellished by nature and history, amidst the Satpura range. It’s a beautiful hill station and makes a great tourist destination.
